Weld County approves multiple foster‑care contracts, MOU with Youth for Christ and nursing‑student training agreement

The Weld County Board of Commissioners on March 26 approved a slate of contracts and agreements during general business and consent items, including child‑welfare coordination, several foster‑care provider contracts and a nursing student clinical training affiliation.
Jamie Ulrich of the Department of Human Services asked the board to approve Contract ID 9227, a memorandum of understanding to share child‑welfare student referral information with Northern Colorado Youth for Christ for its rebalance program; the board approved the MOU. Ulrich also presented several individual foster‑care provider and respite contracts (Contract IDs 9189, 9254, 9238, 9246, 9247) for providers in Ault, Northglenn, Severance and Firestone; each contract was approved by voice vote.
Sean May, division director of Public Health Services, presented Contract ID 9253, an educational affiliation agreement with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to allow nursing students to complete required clinical internship hours locally. May said the agreement strengthens workforce development pipelines and helps local practitioners gain training opportunities. The board approved the affiliation agreement.
Motions for individual contracts were made and seconded on the record (for example, Contract ID 9227 was moved by Commissioner Jason Maxey and seconded by Commissioner Kevin Ross). All the listed contracts were approved without recorded dissent.
The approvals are reflected with the contract IDs recorded in county minutes; contract execution will follow standard county procurement and contracting procedures.
