Weld County approves confidentiality agreement to proceed with Ernst & Young AI pilot

Weld County commissioners on April 21 authorized the chair to sign a confidentiality agreement required by Ernst & Young LLP so the county can proceed with an AI software pilot intended to assist grant generation.
Ryan Rose of the Department of Information Technology told the board a work session on March 27 produced direction from the board to proceed with the pilot. Rose said Ernst & Young requires the county to sign an NDA/confidentiality agreement to move forward and that county attorneys had reviewed the document. The board voted to approve Contract ID 9364, authorizing the confidentiality agreement.
Commissioner Katie Maxey moved approval; the motion was seconded (recorded in the transcript as seconded by Commissioner Peppler). The board approved the confidentiality agreement on a voice vote.
The board’s approval permits staff to continue the pilot under the terms agreed with Ernst & Young; the contract language presented was limited to the confidentiality agreement required to access proprietary software and did not itself commit further funding in the meeting record.
