Weld County commissioners on March 17 approved a professional services agreement with Ayers Associates, not to exceed $120,000 through December 2025, to provide on-call planning services and temporary staff support for Planning & Development Services.
Director of Planning Services David Eisenbaum told the board the contract will bring in former Weld County planners to provide continuity on senior-level casework, help maintain permit approvals, and avoid delays while the department takes on additional tasks identified in a February work session. The contract is limited to calendar year 2025.
Separately, the board appointed David Eisenbaum as interim chief building official for Planning Services following the recent resignation of the previous chief building official, Rob Godin. Eisenbaum said interviews for permanent candidates are scheduled in the coming weeks and clarified the interim role is temporary; the transcript records a commissioner quip that the interim appointment “does not come with a raise.”
The Ayers Associates contract and the interim appointment were each moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote. The transcript does not include the signed contract language or candidate list for permanent CBO interviews.
