Roseville council approves fleet, furniture and tile replacement purchases from budgeted funds

The Roseville City Council approved multiple budgeted purchasing requests on May 13 as part of ongoing City Hall renovations and fleet replacement plans.
Council approved continuing the tile contract with Tile Pros of Michigan LLC as a single-source procurement to replace tile outside the council chamber and extend the renovation to the library hallways, using available bond funds from a voter-approved millage. City Manager Tim Monroe said the corridor tile is original to the building and has unlevel areas of concern; the work continues the city hall renovation program.
The council also approved the purchase of three 2025 Ford Maverick SuperCrew all-wheel-drive pickup trucks for the building department from Longhammer Ford of Owasso under state/Macomb County bid pricing. Monroe said the building department had not purchased new vehicles since 2016 and that continuing to invest in increasingly costly older vehicles was no longer practical. The purchases are budgeted in the current fiscal year.
Two separate furniture procurements were approved using state bid pricing: office furniture for the new community/training room and furniture for the fire department administration office. The recommended vendor for both awards was listed as Kerr Albert Office Supplies and Furniture (single-source on the city's preferred vendor list). Monroe said the vendor has been used for about 30 years and that the purchases follow OmniForm/state bid pricing.
Council members asked staff whether any Roseville businesses were included in the furniture bids; Monroe said he was not aware of a local vendor that performs this specific work. On vehicles, staff said retired units would be auctioned on web-based government auction platforms or stripped for parts as determined by the fleet manager.
All procurement motions were carried by voice vote. Council directed staff to proceed with scheduled purchases and with auction or disposition of retired vehicles according to municipal procedures.
