Food trucks and a short program including music were discussed as elements to drive public attendance and media coverage. Commissioners noted the state typically sends a delegation led by the governor or lieutenant governor to make these announcements and that the governor’s office will choose dates based on schedules.
Commissioners asked to prioritize dates that work for most commission members while the executive offices finalize availability. The commission’s staff said they will provide a short program plan and logistics options to the governor’s communications office to support a mid‑May visit and public announcement.
