County staff said the existing hotel/restaurant liquor license had been held by the ski‑area operator; the city applied to transfer the license to the municipality while it completes an RFP process and a permanent operator files for a full retail license. County staff cautioned that the temporary permit mechanism provides a short bridge (120 days) while the permanent application proceeds through the state and county review processes.
The board moved, seconded and approved the temporary permit on a voice vote. County licensing staff and the city will complete any required administrative checks and the formal permanent application will return to the board or to licensing review as required by county process.
Why it matters: The temporary permit prevents an operational gap at a downtown hospitality venue during an operational transition; the permit is short term and conditionally bridges the transfer of the license while staff completes required reviews.
