At the April 22 meeting the Routt County Board of Commissioners reviewed a hearing officer's recommendation regarding two schedules (R4773346 and R4773347) from an abatement hearing held April 10. The assessor recommended that the two parcels be combined and classified as residential with a combined recommended value of $2,000,544.52.
The hearing referee, Ryan Kane, signed the recommendation to combine and reclassify the parcels. Staff noted the property owners were not present and had no specific value requested. The board moved to approve the hearing officer's recommendation, which the board recorded would result in refunds of $5,542.40 for tax year 2023 and $5,728.66 for tax year 2024. The motion carried by voice vote.
County assessor staff confirmed the lots had already been officially combined as part of the cleanup. The board approved the refunds consistent with the hearing officer's recommendation and directed staff to process the refunds.
