Tomball ISD board adopts canvass declaring four bond propositions passed

The Tomball Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted an order canvassing the certified returns of the May 3, 2025 bond election at a canvass meeting that began at 5:18 p.m. Central, declaring propositions A, B, C and D passed and enabling the district to begin bond-related work.

The board’s chief financial officer, Zach Bowles, presented the certified final canvas results the district received from the Harris County and Montgomery County election administrators and recited the vote totals. “The purpose of this meeting is to approve and order canvassing the May, results provided by the Harris County and Montgomery County Clerk's Offices,” Bowles said. He read the returns for each proposition, reporting: Proposition A — 2,440 votes for, 1,412 votes against; Proposition B — 2,461 for, 1,389 against; Proposition C — 2,157 for, 1,690 against; and Proposition D — 2,117 for, 1,728 against.

Bowles told the board that county officials reported no problems with the election. When asked whether Harris County or Montgomery County had reported any “concerns, any abnormalities, any election challenges,” Bowles replied, “There were none reported. No.” He also clarified that the district partnered with the counties to conduct the election, noting the districts are required to do so under state law.

A trustee moved that “the board as a canvassing authority for the bond election, canvass the results of the 05/03/2025 bond election of the Tomball Independent School District propositions a, b, c, and d have passed,” and Coco White seconded the motion. With no requests to examine precinct returns or questions about the conduct of the election, the board chair called for a voice/hand vote. “Motion carries unanimously,” the chair said. The transcript does not record a roll-call tally by name.

Board members named in the meeting record include President Dr. Pratt, Trustee Dr. Salazar Zamora, Trustee Coco White and Trustee Mark Levandowski. The board’s chief financial officer Zach Bowles made the presentation; a staff member identified in the record as Mr. Volz was also thanked during the meeting. After adopting the canvass, the chair said, “let's get bond 2025 going. Let's start work.”

The canvass constitutes the district’s official tabulation of total votes received for and against each measure as reflected in the certified returns provided to the district by Harris County and Montgomery County. The meeting adjourned at 5:24 p.m. Central.
