Brad Baker (public works) updated the Trenton City Council on May 1 that the community splash pad project will go out to bid this month and that equipment shipments are arriving.
Baker said equipment skids are being delivered from Quebec and that the first skid has arrived and been stored in the city's shop. He said bids will be solicited and that the council may see a contract award on June 6. Baker described a target for substantial completion as Sept. 30, 2025, and said the project will be fenced during construction to secure equipment and materials.
Staff said electrical and structural subcontract work will be coordinated after the contract award and that remaining skids of equipment are scheduled to be delivered ahead of construction activity. No formal council action was taken at the May 1 work session; staff expect to return with an award recommendation at the June meeting.
