The Powell City Council on April 15 approved minutes from a special council meeting and the April 1 council meeting, adopted the consent agenda and appointed Curt Ramsey to fill a vacant council seat.
Councilors voted to adopt the minutes of the special meeting (voice vote) and the April 1 meeting (voice vote). The consent agenda, which included reports and a liquor control notice, was adopted by voice vote after no items were removed for separate consideration.
Later in the meeting the council recessed to executive session under Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(1) and (G)(8). After returning to open session, a motion was made to nominate Curt Ramsey to fill the vacant council position; the motion was seconded and the council called for a roll-call vote. The roll-call recorded yeas and Ramsey was elected to fill the unexpired term. Council President/Mayor David Lester said Ramsey will be sworn in at the next council meeting in May.
No formal contours of Ramsey’s duties were changed; the appointment fills the unexpired term and requires a swearing-in at the next scheduled meeting.
