Willowick council approves routine expenditures, appointments and an ordinance amending procurement procedures

Willowick City Council approved multiple routine resolutions, purchase orders and one ordinance during its meeting, voting unanimously on each item recorded on the agenda.

Council members voted to approve a mayoral appointment of Tom Robinson to the Willowbrook Civil Service Commission. They also approved a ceremonial proclamation declaring April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.

Finance Director Cheryl Benedict said the contract required a per-pupil payment in year 11 and that she had obtained the enrollment numbers from the school treasurer to calculate the sum; she offered to provide the spreadsheets on request.

Ordinary business also included adoption of Ordinance 2025-18, which amends Chapter 125 (contracts) of the codified ordinances regarding procedures for advertising and award exceptions; the ordinance was adopted by roll call under emergency declaration.
