Worthington advisory board outlines 2025 bicycle and pedestrian projects; council approves related capital funding and adds sidewalk gaps to street program

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board presented a set of infrastructure and program priorities on March 17, and Worthington City Council approved a related capital appropriation and amended the city’s street and sidewalk maintenance ordinance to include sidewalk-gap repairs.

The board’s Rebecca Green gave an overview of accomplishments since 2020 — rapid‑flash beacons, a sidewalk‑gaps pilot, a bicycle‑boulevard pilot and an interactive bike‑rack map — and said the group will focus in 2025 on implementing bicycle boulevards in Colonial Hills, Olentangy Trail maintenance and additional sidewalk connections. “Our mission statement is to connect the community by advocating for enhanced mobility for all citizens and visitors on bike and foot,” Green said during the presentation.
