The Park City Council on May 13 awarded a contract for monument sign improvements in the Park Center development to Miracle Sign, the low bidder at $148,349.
City staff reported a May 1 bid opening with three submissions; Miracle Sign’s $148,349 bid was well below the engineer’s estimate. The council authorized payment via temporary financing to be followed by long-term general obligation bonds and directed the mayor to finalize and execute the contract.
Troy Hill moved approval of the bid tabulation and contract authorization; Charlie Davidson seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote, 6-0. The package includes three sign locations: a roundabout sign at the end of Park Center Drive, a large entrance sign off 60 First Street that will primarily advertise tenant space in the commercial district, and a smaller sign on Hydraulic Street at Stewart Drive. Staff said landscaping will be provided around the signs and that some signs will be in medians with plantings coordinated in the future landscape work.
Council asked whether the signs will be lit; city staff confirmed lighting is included in the sign work. The council’s approval covers construction of the signs only; landscaping and right-of-way coordination were noted as separate items tied to street and median layouts.
