City says AT&T fiber crews working in utility easements after resident complaints in Huntington Woods

Law Director Barber told council that AT&T is installing cabling for fiber in Huntington Woods and other parts of Ward 4 and that the city fielded resident complaints over the weekend about vehicles and work activity.
Barber said he and city staff spoke with the AT&T crew chief and an inspector identified as Ralph and that the crews are working in a utility easement. "We're making sure that the residents are as impacted as little as possible. But we do not have any control over that. They don't even have to give us a notice," Barber said.
Public-works staff later noted Huntington Woods has underground utilities, which may complicate surface work and resident concerns. Council members asked staff to continue seeking scheduling details from AT&T and to relay information to residents who call city hall.
