The council voted unanimously on roll call to approve an ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter an agreement with Carvo Companies Inc. for the 2025 pavement resurfacing program. Council members voting aye were DeGeorge, Greco, Long, Meyer, Wenzik and Peter J. Wednesday. The ordinance was adopted on an emergency basis and will move forward with contracting and scheduling for the resurfacing work.
Council also adopted a resolution declaring the city’s official intent and reasonable expectation to reimburse its sewer fund for the CA08AA SSO elimination project with proceeds of debt, a step the administration described as necessary to secure state loan reimbursements linked to the Ohio Public Works Commission program. That measure (Resolution 25-45) passed after suspension of council rules and inclusion of the emergency clause.
Other items approved in the meeting’s emergency package included resolutions and ordinances tied to winter road salt procurement and equipment purchases for the city’s service operations. The council recorded unanimous ayes on the roll calls for each of the measures considered under the public-improvements and services committees.
