SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. — The Springfield Municipal Regional Planning Commission on May 1 renewed a performance surety for Reyes Estates, a routine step staff said protects the city while remaining infrastructure improvements are completed.
City staff described the renewal as standard procedure and said most infrastructure work on the project has already been completed; only a small amount of infrastructure remains outstanding. A commissioner clarified that the surety renewal pertains only to the Reyes Estates project and is not connected to a nearby convenience market.
Commissioners moved to approve the renewal; on roll call the item passed with nine affirmative votes. Staff said they would continue oversight until the remaining improvements meet city standards.
