Michigan House hears committee reports and bill introductions, then adjourns after lack of quorum

The Michigan House of Representatives convened for a brief session, processed committee reports and administrative-rule filings, and introduced a series of bills before adjourning until May 20, 2025, after a member announced a lack of quorum.

Clerk: "The house will come to order. The clerk will open the board for purposes of taking attendance. Members, you may now check-in at your desk. The clerk will close the board, tally display, and announce today's attendance." A short time later, a member announced, "Mister speaker, a quorum of the house is not present," and the House stood adjourned until the date announced.

The session recorded multiple committee reports recommending further action on bills. The Committee on Government Operations reported House Bill 4066 with a recommendation that substitute H-1 be adopted and the bill passed.
