On the softball fields, the Enforcers presented a plan to cut sod to expose infields, apply surface material, install bases, add gravel behind backstops and erect temporary fencing for tournaments. The group committed to fully funding the work; staff said the work could begin within a week and be completed in about two weeks. Parks and Recreation staff noted parks would have use of the fields for municipal programs after renovations.
Both recommendations passed by voice vote during the meeting. Staff said the improvements are intended to support upcoming events and over 10 tournaments already scheduled this year at the sports complex.
Councilors and staff expressed general support and moved on to other agenda items.
