Ephrata council adopts updated employee wellness policy, citing staff survey

A staff member explained that the current wellness policy dated from February 2008 and had fallen into limited use. "We do a full survey currently out with our staff to kinda get an engage of where their heads are at with well-being," the staff member said, adding that the update is intended to make the policy more relevant to current staff needs and to enable planned initiatives.
Councilor moved to accept Resolution 25-32; the motion was seconded and the council voted in favor. The staff member said the council's approval will allow human resources to proceed with planned wellness initiatives guided by the staff survey results.
The adoption was procedural and no budget or program changes beyond the policy update were described at the meeting.
