Register of Deeds reports increase in online subscriptions, ongoing back‑indexing and staffing change

At the April 28 Dodge County Land Resources and Parks Committee meeting, the Register of Deeds provided a quarterly update on records services, online subscriptions, vendor onboarding and staffing.
The Register reported continuing work on back‑indexing historical records, removal of confidential information from marriage records, and onboarding an additional e‑recording vendor, Hopdocs, bringing the total to five e‑recording vendors. As of March, the Register said there were 13 annual LandShark subscription accounts and 1,346 day‑use transactions paid by credit card; 169 escrow accounts also remain active. The office completed another book and is continuing the indexing work.
Staff said the office is currently fully staffed but expects one recent hire to move to the county maintenance department; applications are being accepted to fill that vacancy. A year‑to‑date budget report and month‑to‑month document count comparisons were provided; document numbers rose in March following a dip in January and February.
The Register encouraged committee members to contact the office with questions and noted continuing efforts to improve online access and e‑recording services.
