The presenter said approval by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection makes a county eligible for Soil and Water Resource Management grant funding that supports conservation staff and cost-share for conservation practices on private land. A county plan’s approval term is 10 years, with a five-year progress review before the Land and Water Conservation Board.
Committee members noted Dodge County’s plan was rewritten in 2022 and that the five-year review will be due in 2027. The presenter invited committee participation in plan development and attendance at Land and Water Conservation Board presentations to support county plan approval.
