Concord Township Council on May 13 approved an amended 40-year lease with American Towers LLC for a portion of township-owned property at 725 Smithbridge Road where a cellular tower is installed, accepting a one-time payment of $25,000.
The lease resolution (No. 27 of 2025) authorizes Township Manager Amanda Siroc to execute the amended lease; the resolution states the parcel contains approximately 3,600 square feet and noted the current lease term was set to expire April 29, 2034. The amended lease term proposed at the meeting extends for 40 years in the form attached to the resolution.
The council motion passed by voice vote. One council member recorded a dissent: “I am a nay on this 1. Just so we know. I'm a nay on that,” which the meeting transcript records immediately after the voice vote. The council did not elaborate further during the meeting record about the basis for the no vote.
The resolution states council found it “in the best interest” of the township to enter the amended lease for the referenced consideration; the council did not record any additional conditions or amendments at the meeting.
