The Millville City Commission approved a resolution authorizing a closed session to discuss labor and contract matters, including a conflict-labor-council issue, a tower-lease negotiation and the citys solid-waste collection agreement.
"We have a resolution authorizing a closed session for the following matters: discussion of conflict labor council, tower lease negotiation, and city of Millville solid waste collection agreement," the Municipal Clerk announced during the work session.
A motion and second were offered and the commission took a roll-call vote. Commissioners recorded "yes" votes from Commissioner Hewitt, Vice Mayor Watson, Commissioner Casa Boone, Commissioner Sui and Mayor Romanek. The motion carried; the commission will meet in closed session to discuss the listed matters under the authority cited at the start of the meeting.
The commission did not provide details about the matters to be discussed in closed session at the public meeting; the resolution indicates personnel and contract negotiations that the commission will address privately. The Municipal Clerk advised the public that the minutes will reflect the closed-session authorization. Any reportable actions from the closed session will be disclosed as required by law when and if the commission chooses to report them publicly.
