Engineering staff reported that Meter Tech is installing new water meters in part of the city (areas north of Broad Street, Union Lake and surrounding corridors) and urged residents receiving notices to call to schedule installations. Residents and commissioners said the city should post a clear web notice and follow‑up communications so letters are not dismissed as junk mail.
In public comment, Tamara Davis asked that the city publish maps and schedules indicating which neighborhoods will be done and in what order and that the vendor or the city provide follow‑up phone calls. The engineering report included a reminder that messages and mailers from Meter Tech are legitimate and part of a phased installation program.
City staff agreed to post information on the city website and to coordinate outreach with the water department and Clerk’s office so residents can track progress and schedule appointments. The commission asked staff to prepare a simple public notice and an implementation timeline for the next meeting.
