County manager told commissioners a 2022 ARPA contract to the West Park Fire District for 15 life packs (AEDs/defibrillators) was not paid; she recommended using the commissioners’ "other entities" line to cover $22,314 and directed accounts payable to cut the check and place a funding-change item on Tuesday’s agenda.
Vina Genesio, Pueblo County manager, told the board that a 2022 contract approved to supply 15 life packs (AEDs and defibrillators) to the West Park Fire District in the amount of $22,314 intended to be paid with ARPA funds had not been executed.
Genesio said the contract "slipped through the cracks" amid the large volume of pandemic-era contracts and the need to encumber federal funds. She recommended the board cover the $22,314 from the commissioners’ "other entities" line, which she said still had substantial funding for the year.
Commissioners expressed support. One commissioner said, "Well said. I'm good. I'm good with the 2," and Genesio directed accounts payable to issue the check immediately and place a formal funding-stream change on the Tuesday board agenda so the official budget action can be recorded.
On the record, the board did not take a separate formal vote during the work session; staff indicated the administrative payment would be made promptly and the formal agenda item would document the change for Tuesday's meeting.
