Commission grants secure-transport license to Titan Shield Security Agency

The Pueblo County Board of County Commissioners approved a secure-transportation services license and vehicle permits for Titan Shield Security Agency on Thursday.

County staff said Titan Shield met the county’s insurance, vehicle-inspection and documentation requirements under the county’s policy for secure transportation services, which covers transports of people experiencing behavioral-health crises.

James Gonzalez, representing Titan Shield Security, told commissioners the company — owned by his father, Jim Gonzales — has provided secure transportation in Pueblo since about 2011 and has been a Parkview partner. “We’ve actually been partnered with Parkview for, since 02/2011, providing secure transportation services,” Gonzalez said. He said the company has had “0 incidents report” over 14 years and that the firm operates three vehicles.

Commissioners asked whether fleet and insurance checks were completed; county staff confirmed Fleet and the county attorney’s office reviewed the application and that fleet inspected the vehicles. Following that exchange, the board moved and voted to approve the license and vehicle permits. The motion carried.

Titan Shield will operate as a licensed provider for secure transports in Pueblo County; county staff said the firm paid fleet charges for vehicle inspections and provided required documentation to the county attorney’s office.
