County insurance adviser outlines CTSI pool structure, rising premiums and outside coverages

Keilbach said the county’s main property, liability and auto coverages and workers’ compensation are placed through the County Technical Services Insurance (CTSI) pool and described how the pool’s self‑insurance retentions (deductibles) and reinsurance work. “Your property and casualty pool, your self insured retention … is a hundred and $25,000,” Keilbach said, and the county’s workers’ compensation retention is $225,000. He added that CTSI’s standard program provides reinsurance “up to a hundred million dollars.”
