Human services to move to four-day work week; financial reports approved

Ouray County human services staff presented January and February 2025 financial reports and caseload data and secured board approval for several items on March 25, 2025.
The board voted to approve the financial reports (balance sheet, earned revenue and expenditures for January; expenditures through electronic benefit transfers for February; check register and county allocation MOE report) and authorized signatures on the certification page.
Human Services Director Linnea presented caseloads and said levels were stable; staff noted a minor, possibly erroneous drop in reported Medicaid/SNAP cases in the packet that staff will review.
The board also approved Human Services’ proposal to move the office to a four-day work week (closing one weekday, typically Friday) with signage, website notices and partner notifications; staff said emergency coverage and regional partnerships (San Miguel County) will preserve access to essential client services and that no compensation changes are planned. Commissioners said they were receptive to the change and asked staff to coordinate public notices and partner communications.
Finally, the board approved a personnel/appointments item adding Kristen Kelly as the county’s representative for the Southwest Regional Opioid Council on a regional panel.
