Facilities Director Mark Dixon (presenter) summarized the annual capacity report and recommended readopting existing boundaries for the 2025–26 school year. A motion to adopt the maps carried after a second; the board said it will convene again in July to examine potential rezoning for the 2026–27 school year.
A member of the public raised concerns about Citrus Springs Elementary and Central Ridge Elementary, which she said were above capacity. Dixon and board members answered that the district is in open enrollment and has seen some enrollment outflow linked to vouchers, and that the district will review Citrus Springs and Central Ridge specifically for rezoning in 2026–27. Board members and staff noted capacity-management options: portables can be added at most schools (except Rock Crusher), facilities may expand campuses where feasible, and rezoning requires re‑evaluation and, where applicable, state approval when new construction is proposed.
No boundary changes were made at the meeting; the vote preserves the current maps for the coming school year and schedules further review for 2026–27.
