Superintendent and finance staff told the board that the Commonwealth has allocated funds for a $1,000 bonus for eligible school employees under the 2025 budget amendments and that the division expects to receive the state portion by June 1.
Staff asked the board to prepare to certify a plan for distributing the bonus at the June meeting. The district reported an anticipated state payment of $781,019 (based on the state’s position calculation) and said the division will combine state funds with operating dollars to pay $1,000 to full-time employees who were employed the full year, with prorated amounts for part-time or partial-year staff.
Staff said the division plans to issue payments by the second June paycheck once funds are confirmed and accounting processes are complete, and that the board will be asked at the June meeting to approve the exact distribution plan. The board did not vote on the distribution plan at the May meeting.
