CTE center nearing turnover; trustees receive detailed bond project update and summer schedule

Project managers reviewed work at multiple sites: Creekside Elementary (final punch list and terrazzo remediation options), Lake Creek (HVAC commissioning items), the triplet campuses (112 bathrooms to be renovated this summer), and Montgomery High School renovations (teaching-wall installs and bathroom work). Construction staff said some items required close coordination because the work affects summer athletics, band and other programs.
At the transportation fuel center, crews are scheduled to pour concrete for fuel tank foundations; district staff said fuel tanks and canopy installation would follow once concrete cures. The CTE building's specialized labs — cosmetology, culinary, welding and an enclosed ambulance for EMT training — have long lead‑time equipment already procured and in many cases scheduled for installation the week of move-in.
Trustees were briefed on stadium/athletic complex timelines and seat-back planning; officials said steel deliveries for bleachers are projected in July, which tightens the schedule for an August substantial completion for the athletic complex. Staff said they will monitor delivery dates closely and coordinate summer schedules to avoid disruption to summer activities.
Overall, most bond projects are within budget and contingency for the work presented, the district reported; staff said they will continue to notify the board of any scope or budget changes discovered during summer work.
