Montgomery ISD Board certifies May election, swears in new trustees and elects officers

The Montgomery Independent School District Board of Trustees certified the results of the May 3, 2025 board election and administered oaths to two newly elected trustees before reorganizing its leadership for the 2025–26 year.

At a regular meeting on May 13, the board accepted the canvas report showing vote totals by early, absentee and election-day ballots, then voted to certify the results. After certification, County Judge Mack administered the oath of office to Mark Keelan for Position 6 and to Nate Robb for Position 7.

The board then moved to reorganize its leadership. Trustee Eddie Wynne was nominated and elected board president for 2025–26. Lori Turner was elected vice president and Lizzie Ivy was elected board secretary by voice vote. The board switched seats onstage and proceeded with the rest of the agenda.

Board President-elect Wynne told trustees, as the new president, he expected a learning curve but pledged to proceed carefully. Judge Mack told the new trustees, "Always make always know that that's your why. And that's why you ran," during the oath ceremony.

The actions taken at the May 13 meeting formalize new representation following the May 3 election and set the governance roles the board will use for the next year. The board also instructed staff to continue routine post-election administrative steps: issuing certificates of election and preparing official records for the newly seated trustees.

The board moved on to regular business after the reorganization; there were no reported challenges to the certified results during the meeting.
