County staff advised the speakers on the standard assistance process: the organization should provide documentation that includes its 501(c)(3) status, program descriptions, past expenditures and a written request indicating the amount sought and intended use of funds.
Emily Hunter, community relations and legislative director, directed the organization to submit program information and grant requests so staff can evaluate and, if appropriate, place the request before the commission. The county representative also asked for information on other grants the nonprofit has applied for.
