Uintah County approves five-year prosecutorial services agreement with Naples City for $40,000 annually

Vernal, Utah — The Uintah County Commission approved a five-year agreement May 13 under which the county attorney’s office will provide prosecutorial services to Naples City’s justice court for citation prosecutions.
Commission staff said the agreement continues a prior arrangement and keeps the compensation level the same. The five-year term runs through Dec. 31, 2029; the contract calls for $40,000 per year, paid in two $20,000 installments during the calendar year.
The county attorney’s office reported that it assisted prosecution for Naples in recent years and provided case counts to the commission during the meeting. Commissioners approved Resolution 05-13-2025-R1 adopting the agreement.
Staff said the change was requested by Naples City so the city would not need to renew the contract annually. The commission approved the resolution and directed staff to execute the agreement and track semiannual payments as specified.
