Board approves summer school staff, camps and Bibb County High baseball travel

The Bibb County Regular School District approved summer school teachers, math/reading camp personnel, CNP summer workers and the Bibb County High School baseball team’s travel for the AHSAA state tournament May 12–14, 2025.
The Bibb County Regular School District board approved staff for summer school and summer camps, a roster of Child Nutrition Program summer workers, and a travel request for Bibb County High School’s baseball team to attend the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) state baseball championship May 12–14, 2025.
The superintendent presented recommended summer staffing lists that the board approved by voice vote. Summer school teachers approved for Bibb County High School were Melinda Collins, Cara Hudson, David Steele, Erin Tinker and Blake Cook; Centerville Middle School summer teachers included Delilah Williams and Katrina Ross; West Lawton High School summer staff included Brent Buckner. For summer math/reading camps the board approved specialists and teachers at Brent Elementary School (specialist Tasha Hamilton; teachers including Ryan Phelps, Shalanda Steele, Crystal Hendricks, Hope Sellers, Connie Owens, May Lockett, Shondra Minor, Candace Farrington, Casey McKenzie) and Woodstock Elementary School (specialist Crystal Cook; teachers Amanda Green, Emily Hopson, Daphne Adams, Kinley Pennington, Lynn Nelson, Chris Martin). Centerville Middle School specialist Melanie Worrall and teacher Katie White were also approved.
The board also approved a list of Child Nutrition Program summer workers including Missy Booth, Amanda Harrell, Regina Thomas, Amy Phillips, Viola Howard, Lindsay Hessler, Candace Martin, Deborah Smith Wirong and Sherry Finley, and an additional summer worker, Ryan Head, for Woodside Elementary School.
Separately the board approved travel for the Bibb County High School baseball team to travel to Oxford, Ala., and Jacksonville, Ala., for the AHSAA state baseball championship May 12–14, 2025. The board record notes students will travel by personal cars and will have an overnight stay; the travel approval was granted by vote.
