County declares EDS equipment surplus and authorizes online auction

Washington County Commissioners Court on Tuesday declared certain EDS (emergency dispatch system) equipment items as surplus and authorized their sale through GovDeals, the county’s online auction platform.
Staff said the equipment listed had been out of service for some time and recommended auction to recoup funds for future equipment purchases. The court moved and seconded the declaration and sale under Texas Local Government Code §263.152; the motion carried by voice vote.
Staff will prepare the auction listing and proceeds will return to the county per standard surplus-sale procedures.
