County receives several formal notices of telecom service-line crossings on county roads

Washington County Commissioners Court on Tuesday reviewed three notices from telecommunications companies proposing to install new service lines across county rights-of-way in Precinct 4.
Staff described the work as standard crossings to provide service connections to residences and businesses from existing main fiber lines in the Burton and Carmine area. The notices covered a bore and casing across Cather Road for 1620 Cather Road (about half a mile northwest of Cather and North Hopstrasse), a bore across Raymond Laymon Road near Wildwood, and a crossing on Sandtown Road to reach a private address at 14270 Lentz Meyer Road. Staff said the companies met the county’s requirements and would use bore methods rather than cutting into the roadway.
The court received the notices and held no objection. Staff said these service connections are expected to continue as the main fiber lines extend through the county.
