The project team said surface safety surfacing costs are significant (staff estimated $20–28 per square foot for compliant surfacing).
Board members praised Farmington parents and principal for fundraising and volunteer coordination. Staff said the district will proceed with permitting and bring a formal funding recommendation and timeline to the board; no formal appropriation vote was taken at the work session.
