Quincy Yaley, community development director, told the board there were five applicants for the at‑large seat; the planning commission “provides a variety of duties including reviewing discretionary projects” and sometimes acts as a decision‑making body, Yaley said. Members of the public urged the board to pick a candidate with consistent meeting attendance. The Tuolumne County Business Council also recommended Jerry Morrow.
Supervisor Campbell moved to reappoint Morrow; Supervisor Holland seconded. The board voted unanimously, 5‑0, to appoint Morrow to the at‑large position with a term expiring Feb. 15, 2029. Board members praised Morrow’s attendance, his communication with supervisors about upcoming or controversial items, and his role as president of the California State Planning Commissioners Association.
Ending: The county clerk will notify the appointee and publish the updated planning commission roster; additional packet material lists other applicants who were not selected.
