The Board of Supervisors continued action on a proposed rezone and tentative parcel map for a 13.72-acre parcel at 9222 North Old Stage Road, adjacent to the city of Weed, to the board meeting scheduled for May 20.
Rachel Jerrubs, senior planner, told the board the proposal would rezone the parcel from nonprime agricultural to rural residential agricultural with a five-acre minimum parcel size so the property could be subdivided into two 6.86-acre parcels. The parcel already contains a single-family dwelling and accessory structures; the planning commission conditionally approved the tentative parcel map and recommended the board adopt a CEQA exemption and approve the rezone.
Jerrubs said no public comments had been received and staff recommended approval, but she explained that agencies initially submitted a number of conditions—examples cited included road-department encroachment permits and California Department of Fish and Wildlife seasonal restrictions on bed removal tied to bird-nesting seasons. Jerrubs said the project was modified to remove several of those conditions and the board asked staff to confirm what comments remain applicable.
The board voted to approve the first reading and continue the item to May 20; because the item was continued, no final rezoning was adopted at this meeting.
