The district said the spending plan prioritizes academics, staffing, and student supports while funding facilities work. "With a 0% tax levy increase, this budget maintains essential services and programs without raising taxes," a district staff member said.
According to the announcement, the budget funds academic and social-emotional supports, alignment with New York State graduation pathways, career and technical education, STEM learning, athletics, fine and performing arts, and expanded opportunities outside the classroom. The district also told the community the plan includes paving and HVAC projects intended as facilities upgrades.
The district highlighted recruitment of additional English language learner and bilingual teachers to meet needs tied to its student population. The announcement said the district is focused on attracting and retaining educators through training and support.
The statement encouraged residents to visit ercsd.org for details on the proposed budget, board of education candidates and polling locations ahead of the May 20 vote.
