The Marshalltown Community School District board approved a three‑year audit contract with Bonsack & Frommelt, a firm based in Moline that the district said has experience auditing Iowa school districts.
The administration said the incumbent auditor, Hogan Hanson, informed the district earlier this year that staffing constraints would prevent a multi‑year renewal, prompting the district to issue an RFP. Two proposals were received; district business staff and the finance committee reviewed the submissions and recommended Bonsack & Frommelt because the firm demonstrated more school audit experience and offered experienced team members for the district’s size.
The board voted to contract Bonsack & Frommelt for three years; staff will finalize the engagement letter and schedule the FY25 audit work with the firm.
