A council member asked about the schedule; staff said crews will pave Sand Hill from Hillside down to Old Mill on the announced dates and complete finishing work the following week. Staff explained that the mill-and-overlay is planned after these repairs to create a clean, continuous pavement surface and to enable a five-year no-cut warranty that prevents patchwork appearances: after the overlay, utilities must restore large sections to preserve smoothness.
On No Name Road, staff said FEMA returned the Clomar and the city engineer will submit materials to Regional Flood Control for concurrence; the intake is monthly and the item is expected to be heard by Regional Flood Control's board in June. If successful, the city anticipates issuing bid documents in June and awarding a contract in late July, with a council authorization to follow.
Council members described the sequence as necessary to avoid a patched appearance and to coordinate multiple utility projects; staff reiterated the plan to complete localized trench paving now and the full mill-and-overlay later so the roadway will be uniform.
