The Sioux City Community School District board approved a series of labor agreements and wage adjustments during its April 28 meeting.
The board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Sioux City Education Association to renew pay‑timeframe language and accepted several tentative agreements ratified by employee groups: the Sioux City Education Association (SCEA), the Sioux City Educational Support Personnel Association (CSPA), Operations and Maintenance Employees International Union IUOE Local 234, and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 212 Bus Drivers Association. Administrators told the board each agreement had been ratified by the union members before board action.
The board also approved the administration’s recommendation to accept FY26 wage increase pools for non‑union groups; board discussion clarified the motion approved pools only, not individual increases, and staff will return with individual allocations later.
Board members asked whether agreements had been ratified by members and were told they had. No public input was offered and the motions passed by voice vote.
The actions authorize administration to execute the agreements and implement the wage pools in the district’s FY26 planning and payroll processes.
