Northern RAC backs new WMA license requirement, adds federal-employee exemption

The Northern Regional Advisory Council on May 2025 voted unanimously to recommend changes to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources’ rule requiring visitors to hold a valid hunting, fishing or combination license to be on certain Wildlife Management Areas in Davis, Salt Lake, Weber and Utah counties.
The council approved the board-bound rule as presented, then added an explicit exemption to cover federal land-management agency employees while conducting official duties.
