The Community Strategies Incorporated board accepted the financial statements for the period ending Feb. 28, 2025, and approved student pathway applications for the 2024–25 and 2025–26 terms during its April 9 meeting.
Janice Swinton, deputy superintendent of finance, told the board the district’s fund balance at February was just over $13,000,000, an increase of about $1,200,000 from prior months. She reported total revenue of approximately $208,000,000 and total expenses just under $195,000,000 through February and said timing of federal program reimbursements drives monthly volatility.
After the financial presentation, the board considered two pathway‑student listings: one set of approvals for the current semester and another set for incoming applicants for the next semester. The board moved and approved each group by roll call. For both motions the recorded yes votes were Miss Berry, Miss Casper, Miss Myers and Mr. Vellum; Mr. Hammons was noted absent.
The board subsequently approved the consent agenda later in the meeting by roll call and then adjourned. All listed motions were approved without recorded no votes or abstentions.
The meeting packet included the financial reports and the board asked staff to continue monitoring reimbursements from federal programs and to provide more detailed carryover information in future reports.
