Yukon planning commission takes no action on OCCM Sea Import Autoplex special-use permit for East Main

The Yukon Planning Commission on May 12, 2025 took no action on a special-use permit request from OCCM Sea Import Autoplex for property on East Main, sending the item back to the applicant for additional information and ownership documentation.

Commissioners said unforeseen circumstances and incomplete materials meant staff and the commission could not approve the request at this meeting. A commissioner moved to amend an earlier tabling motion and “take no action on this item at this time.”

Planning staff explained the procedural difference: “With tabling, it would have to come back to the next meeting with taking no action. That that puts it back into the applicant's corner to to amend and and get everything fixed properly,” the staff member said. Staff also said updated ownership information for the property would be required before the item could be considered again.

The commission recorded votes in favor of taking no action. The vote sequence called on Wright, Knuckles, Jones and Clark, each recorded as voting yes. The commission did not approve or deny the permit; the item will return to the commission when the applicant submits the requested information.

No public testimony about the OCCM Sea Import Autoplex request was recorded in the transcript for this meeting. The commission moved the item out of the agenda for further preparation rather than advancing a substantive decision.
