Planning commission chair: finance will reconcile and issue accrued member compensation checks

The Putnam County Planning Commission discussed payment of modest compensation to commissioners and directed staff to work with county finance to reconcile and distribute accrued checks.
A staff member reported that payments historically are issued twice a year — once at the beginning of the fiscal year covering the second half of the prior year and once around midyear for the current fiscal year. "We're gonna be looking at the last time that the checks were cut from finance, figure out with the new members who was here, who wasn't, make sure that you guys all get paid out," the staff member said, and added that the checks would be sent to the planning office and brought to the next planning commission meeting for pickup if members agreed.
Commissioners noted the compensation is modest and that mileage reimbursement is available for site visits. No public comment was offered on the matter. The item was handled as old business and no formal motion beyond staff follow-up was recorded.
