City renews job order contracting program RFP process to keep prime contractors on retainer

"Job order contracting allows us to rapidly engage contractors for small capital improvements ... It really allows me as the facilities manager to perform a lot of project management duties that normally I wouldn't have time to do," the presenter said.
The RFP will solicit adjustment factors, pricing and qualifications from interested prime contractors to support building and infrastructure projects. Staff recommended forwarding the RFP to the consent agenda for release; no committee objections were recorded.
Next steps: release RFP, evaluate proposals, and select a group of prime contractors to be retained under the JOC roster.
