Palos Park completes major paving and water projects; joins Oak Lawn regional improvements

Since 2019, the address said, more than 20 miles of village roads have been repaved, which the mayor described as over 72% of Palos Park's roughly 28 miles of roads.
The address described Palos Park's membership in the Oak Lawn Regional Water System (RWS). The mayor said RWS launched a modernization initiative that includes a planned 16-mile, 60-inch (5-foot) looped water main intended to double the system's capacity, reduce pumping energy use by 15% and increase long-term reliability.
The mayor also provided a brief explanation for residents of what a sanitary lift station does and why it is used in Palos Park's terrain. No formal council action or vote on these projects was presented during the address.
